The speed of successful iteration is the best proxy of future success for organizations and products.1 AI collapses the cost of intelligence toward zero, which means iteration speed is about to matter more than it ever has. I saw this up close at Procuros, watching AI document processing systems we deployed compound exponentially. The next decade belongs to companies built as learning machines from day one, and I believe San Francisco is the best place to build them.2 So I flew over, slept on a friend’s couch for two weeks, and joined Conway.
